Orientation covering the webtoon ecosystem and career paths after course completion: history of Korean webtoons, webtoon as a profession, genres and themes, platform landscape, copyright, global webtoon trends, AI webtoons, and potential areas of activity going forward.

Lesson 2. Understanding Webtoons - Common
This class is jointly taken by artists and producers to build shared fundamentals for webtoon production. It covers basic drawing, introductory use of digital tools, webtoon storytelling, and project planning.
Objectives Course Outline
  • A drawing workflow essential for both artists and producers.
  • For artists: foundations needed to produce work professionally.
  • For producers: training the eye to evaluate drawing quality.
  • Both roles must understand the purpose of preparing a webtoon to create strong work.

Lesson 3~4

Lesson 3. Webtoon artist class
Artist-focused class for webtoon production, with advanced drawing training, fundamentals of digital tools, and webtoon storytelling.
Objectives Course Outline
  • Explore figure drawing at varied proportions (from chibi to realistic) to find your own style.
  • Learn face-drawing fundamentals and expressive ranges to improve character acting.
  • Analyze directing techniques specific to webtoons.

Lesson 4. Webtoon Artist - Production of Webtoon Works
Produce a webtoon project ready for pitching. This capstone is designed to kick-start learner debuts. What matters is turning everything learned so far into the strongest possible finished work.
Objectives Course Outline
  • Create a work aimed at professional debut.
  • Prepare a proposal and a sample Episode 1 for platform submission.
  • Once you have an attractive proposal and first episode, submit to a Korean production company.
  • Trainees with compelling artwork may debut in Korea.

Lesson 5~6

Lesson 5. Producer class
Learn how to plan by analyzing works favored across various platforms. Analyze webtoons and web novels to identify, select, and develop content readers love.

  • Identify reader interests and plan to match trending topics and issues.
  • A strong proposal is essential for winning platform serialization.
